Answer #1

The only constant thing in this everchanging world is Change. Change is a mandate, sometimes being forced by the external circumstances and sometimes due to internal conditions. In order to implement change smoothly and not bring any resistance by the employees, below mentioned are the recommendations :

  • Information should be provided well in advance : Any changes being brought about by the organization or the top management should be informed well in advance to the people who are going to get affected. The planning of the management, their future course of action, resource requirement and the proposed recommendations should be informed well in advance to the employees so that they can accept it well.
  • Building trust : There should be a trust being built between the top management and the employees, so as to make them well prepared to accept the changes being brought.
  • Employees participation should be encouraged : If the employees tehmselves are being involved in bringing about the change right from scratch, it is easier for them to accept.
  • Only necessary changes are to be made : There should be only necessary changes being brought about so that employees can accept them well. Unnecessary large number of changes bring about resistance.
  • Useful customs and informal norms to be maintained : If the changes being brought about is similar to the existing norms and useful customs and informal norms are being maintained, it is easy to accept the changes. For instance, wearing mask is difficult for the people to accept, But if the masks are similar to their uniform and matching with the same, it is easy for the employees to accept the same.
