I have been a part of event management team in past whose purpose was to organise, manage and effectively conduct a orientation program for the freshers. The team cohesiveness put a positive impact on the team performance as the team was able to synchronise the activities and tasks through coordination which lead to smooth flow of operations with minimum disruptions. The major factors which affected the team cohesiveness included the size of the team and the background of members. Since the team consisted of only 6 members acting as event managers, it was relatively easy to prevent disagreements, conflicts, differences of opinions etc. Moreover all the six members were from the same department and mostly knew each other which helped in achieving common understanding , faith, trust and agreeability much easily. Another factor which influence group cohesion was that there was only one team leader to whom all the five members has to report and comply, which made it easy to follow a common direction and shared vision. The factor which positively affected the group cohesion the Incentives and certificates to be distributed at the end of the project to the team as a whole, which acted as a motivating factor for all the members to work hard and utilise full potential thus increasing the interdependence and cooperation among the team members. The another positive factor was the similar attitudes , interests and passion of team members towards learn in event management and want of making it most success and smooth with no scope of errors or omissions. All the team members equally wanted to attain the reward of best event management team which increased their drive to work together. The plan to work together in future was another factor which made team members agree with each other and understand each other's desires in a more better manner.

The factors which negatively affected the group cohesiveness was the inability to find ground staff to carry small tasks and activities which sometimes lead to breaking of interdependence as some member has to attend other tasks while leaving mainstream work behind that made other team members suffer. Another factor was the insufficient management which sometimes lead to idleness to some members due to lack of objectives or lack of clarity regarding what the next step must.
