You are working in an organization that has had a very good track record with respect to profits. Every year, the organization breaks its own past records of profits but this year something went wrong. Recently there was a change of leadership. The new CEO of the firm is a retired Army officer and is only concerned about results. He sets all goals by himself and then enforces them upon all employees. He does not consider if the employees are motivated enough or have any personal issues, all he focuses upon is the results. In a recent project, the goals were set by him, all teams were organized by him, he made team leaders himself but the end results were not satisfactory.
Comment on the leadership style of the leader relating it to any suitable leadership theory(ies).

This type of leadership style is known as the autocratic leadership style.


Auto means self and cratic is for rule these words reflect the independent and the self-sustaining power of the leader. The autocratic leaders would always make decisions by themselves without even consulting the others. They think they are the main authority for taking the decisions and also rely on the zero or little input for the subordinates. Basically this type of leadership can be seen when there are fresher candidates or inexperienced employees. The leader makes all the decision and he is also the charge of the rules, processes, and methods, etc.

In this context, the goals were set by the new CEO and all the teams and team leaders were organized by him but still, the company was not able to meet the end results because if you will not motivate you, employees, by giving them the opportunity into taking part in the decision making they will not be able to give their 100% hence affecting the goals and objectives of the organization. So employees should not be given orders instead they would be given the opportunity to set the goals and objectives to the organization. This way is the only way to keep everyone directed and motivated by assuring them they are a vital part of the organization.
