DISTRIBUTING SERVICES
Distribution of services is a part of marketing mix. Four piece (4Ps) of marketing are Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. In this marketing mix Place is known as distribution. Distribution of product and services comes under this category. We can say that distribution of product is easy for both the buyer and seller. Distribution of services is very crucial in nature because services are intangible in nature. Experience or satisfaction is difficult to measure because it is intangible in nature it cannot be seen. Consumer can feel the satisfaction or dissatisfaction only.
Distribution of services is known as the process of providing services to the consumer and user who needs these services. This process is done by various organizations, direct and indirect intermediaries and distribution channels. In the organization there are various employees who are involved in the activities and processes of the organization. Employees who are related to the distribution of services have to be very conscious because services are the intangible in nature. Experience or satisfaction cannot be seen or measure directly so the organization have to focus on this. Distribution or the services cannot be seen directly but it can be feel by the consumer. After utilization of services customer can feel the satisfaction or dissatisfaction. So it is very important for the organization to provide the intangible satisfaction to the consumer. For example if a consumer get great hospitality services while entering into the hotel as we know that consumer cannot rate this feeling clearly but it can be felt by him/her. This is known as customer satisfaction. It cannot be measured directly but it can be felt by the customer.
In my opinion services should be distributed with a lot of care because these services are intangible in nature. Satisfaction which is related to the services create a different image of the organization. In the distribution of services organization should be more careful. Distribution of services is different for each and every organization and each company have their own rules and regulation for providing good quality of services in the market.
