The interaction diagrams are the models that show how a group of objects come together or collaborate in some behaviour to form a single use case. It basically shows the information flows from object to the other in the use case. The main purpose is to visualise the behaviour of the system being studied. The some of the other purposes of interaction diagrams are:

To capture the behaviour of the system

To identify the message flow

To define the structural organisation of the objects

To define the interaction among the objects
