Post a short summary of your previous knowledge and experience with lean techniques, quality management, TQM, JIT, and product experimental design. Did your experience change your opinion of continuous improvement? Why or why not?

Quality management: is the continuous process of improving qualit of end product and the service delivery to the customer. There are many definitions for quality, one of them is "producing a product with minimum deffect, with more accuracy and perform according to promise". There are many techniques & tools using by manufacturing firms are:

  • Control charts
  • histograms
  • pareto charts
  • flow charts etc

all these helps to improve the quality of a product at manufacturing level in all dimensions.

Lean techniques: These are the techniques which minimize the wastage in production process of a firm. It helps the firm to minimize its cost and effectively produced higher volume of output with minimum cost. It leads to increase the margings of the firm by minimizing its cost of production.

TQM: Is the technique, Total Quality Management, focuses on continuous improvement to produce high quality products, and serve them to customers with the same ease. It not only confined to producing high quality products, also helps to deliver service with high quality and continuous improvement in the process.

JIT: is the process, Just In Time, which eliminate the wastage of storage of raw materials at production stage. It helps the firms to minimize storage cost of materal and in the same way other kind of wastages.

Product experimental design: Producing a product with more and more new desings at each stage of its testing. It is like filtering process, in each stage the old version of design will be modified with new, with more and better features than old versions.

Yes, I agree with the continuous improvement of products and services through these processess. The output we are experiencing many products in all kinds of industries like automobile, mobile, all kinds of electronic instruments, quick and quality services, and so on.
