Answer #1

The law of defamation is concerned with securing the reputation of an individual. Defamation refers to the statement that may harm someone's reputation. It is a sluggish and costly process. It is a form of a civil suit which doesn't mean that another person has to go to jail for it but is liable to pay a sum of money to the person that filed a suit against him.

There are two types of defamation statements namely "Libel" and Slander".

whereas Libel is a written statement and Slander is a verbal defamatory statement and in both of the cases if an individual is proven guilty in the court of law then he is liable to pay the exact amount of money demanded by the person that sued him.
