The term 'euthanasia' comes from a Greek word that means 'good
death.'
Hippocratic Oath (which doctors take) states that- 'I will give
no deadly medicine to anyone if asked, nor suggest any such
counsel' but euthanasia can be performed by doctors ethically just
like abortion.
There are 5 types of euthanasia:
Voluntary- When a competent person makes a request.
Involuntary- Without the person's knowledge/consent.
Active- Ending a person's life with the help of drugs, by
oneself or with the help of doctors.
Passive- Ending a person's life by not taking necessary actions
like food, water, etc.
Involuntary- Ending a person's life against his/her will.
Euthanasia is mostly administered by giving lethal doses of
drugs.
