Vital signs include heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate. Vital signs signifies the basic functions of the body I.e blood circulation, respiration, etc. The vital signs are important to take decisions about patient in emergency as well as non emergency situations.

The vital signs change as per disease

For example,

1) Respiratory infections, like pneumonia, COVID-19, etc-Patient has fever( increased body temperature), Heart rate is increased, Respiratory rate is Increased.

2) in trauma patients with blood loss, vitals play a important role. Blood pressure, heart rate helps to identify the stage of shock. It helps in rescusitation of the patient.

3) During Cardiopulmonary rescucutation, vital signs help to identify whether the patient has survived or not and helps to plan further steps.
