differenciate between the monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides
Sugars are carbohydrates. The main sugars are monosaccharide, disaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. The main difference between these are the number of monomers it took to form. Monosaccharide is comprised of single monomer while disaccharides are two, in oligosaccharides it's between 3-10 monomers and in polysaccharides it's more than 10 monomers ie,large number of monomers.Monosaccharides, disaccharides and oligosaccharides are water soluble wheareas polysaccharides are insoluble. Polysaccharides doesn't taste as sweet wheareas the rest tastes sweet. Polysaccharides has complex and branched structure and it has a number of ring structures.
