Pharmacogenetic testing will not
identify drug-drug interactions.
predict toxicity to a drug.
predict response to a drug.
distinguish rapid from slow metabolizers.

Answer #1

I hope you will rate my answer positively--

The correct option is 1, pharmacogenetic testing will not identify drug- drug interactions .because of inducers and inhibitors as well as changes occurring in cytochrome P450 enzyme altering the metabolism and it become difficult to understand about their interactions.

The lower both option is incorrect i.e it predict the toxicity and response of the drug by measures of clinical validity it is indicated by measures of discriminative accuracy and predictive value.it can also distinguish between the rapid from slow metabolizers because in slow metabolizers it lack the enzymes due to which it act slowly than the normal while in rapid metabolizers it has more enzymes which causes medication to leave the body too quickly and often before they have had chance to work properly.

thank - you.

A research neurologist is testing the effect of a drug on response time by injecting 100 rats with a unit dose of the drug, subjecting each rat to a neurological stimulus and recording its response time The neurologist knows that the mean response time for rats not injected with the drug (the “control” rats) is 1.2 seconds. She wishes to conduct the following test (i.e. determine if the mean response time for drug injected rats differs from 1.2 seconds). ?o:...

Identify the phrases that correctly apply to how specificity determines receptor-ligand interactions. Select all that apply. * allows receptors to recognize only a signal that they are made for * allows receptors to form non-covalent bonds with messenger molecules * relies on molecular fit between two molecules * allows receptors to distinguish between very similar molecules * in simple words it is just a strength of ligand binding is a measure of strength of binding determines which type of ligands...

Researchers are interested in the effectiveness of a new drug therapy for Alzheimer’s. The researchers predict that the new drug therapy will decrease the symptoms of the disease over time. 100 elderly individuals were recruited to take the new drug therapy. The average number of symptoms they displayed was 6. Individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s who did not take the new drug therapy had an average of 9 symptoms with a variance of 4. Test whether the new drug therapy is...
