You enter your boss’s office to find her at her desk, looking ill. Her skin is pale and she is sweating. Her chest hurts, but she says “It must have been something I ate – it feels like really bad heartburn.” She is obviously short of breath. What should you do?
A s we have to support and relax the patient by giving her confidence ; tell her you will be alright after sometime and ask her to inhale and exhale.
Before performing first aid we have to analyse the case. In this woman has chest pain,pale skin, sweating and shortness of breath. Hence , conclusion of symptoms of heart attack.
First aid for heart attack:
* Ask the patient to be in a comfortable position and loosen the dress.
* Call 911 immediately.
* Provide the patient with aspirin.
* Monitor pulse rate, breathing pattern.
* Do not allow the patient to be unattended.
* Give her CPR if needed.
* Ask the client that the pain is reduced or not.
* If the pain of angina continues then check for other symptoms which can interrupt the blood flow.
