The physiological results of sympathetic stimulation are as
follows:
- Blood vessel - Vasodilatation - sympathetic
stimulation causes increase the vessel diameter
- Heart - Sympathetic stimulation causes increases the heart rate
and increases the force of contraction of the cardiac muscle.
- Lungs - Sympathetic stimulation causes dilatation of the
bronchi
- Contraction of urethra and anal sphincter
- Inhibition of erection
- Inhibition of the lacrimal secretion and salivation
- Liberation of fatty acid and glucose from muscle action.
- Reduction in gastric and intestinal digestive juice
secretion
- Pupillary dilatation.
- Disinhibition of spinal reflex
