B. heart

C.lungs

D. stomach

Answer #1

D.Stomach

The thoracic splanchnic nerves originates from sympathetic trunk of trunk and innervates into the abdomen. The preganglionic nerves and general efferent visceral fibers functions upon stimulation. The post ganglionic neurons of sympathetic nervous system are absent in stomach.

Cardiac sympathetic preganglionic nerve originates from the upper thoracic region of the spinal cord and forms the sympathetic chain ganglia through postganglionic nerve extend to the viscera that is heart. To execution of fight and flight mechanism response , pre and postganglionic nerves of sympathetic nervous system works in adrenal gland and lung in order to release epinephrine and incresing breathing rate respectively.

Which of the following is a difference between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems? - Norepinephrine is released exclusively from post ganglionic fibers in the sympathetic system. - The adrenal gland enhances responses from the parasympathetic system. - The sympathetic system nerves exit the spinal cord in the cervical region of the vertebral column. - Postganglionic fibers are longer in the parasympathetic system. - All of these are differences in the autonomic nervous system.

Compare and contrast the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system. Include information about pre- and post-ganglionic neurons, the neurotransmitters involved, and the typical response at each of the following effectors: adrenal medulla, arterioles, sweat glands, and the heart. Clearly indicate if sympathetic neurons, parasympathetic neurons, or both innervate each of these effectors.
