PRIMARY IMMUNODEFICIENCY DISORDER

It is an immune disorder which occur by birth i.e., congenital. Here, our own body is not able to fight against the infections.

FOUR TYPES OF PRIMARY IMMUNODEFICIENCY DISORDER

  1. X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA)
  2. Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)
  3. Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID)
  4. Congenital neutropenia syndromes

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF PRIMARY IMMUNODEFICIENCY DISEASE

  • Due to etiology such as congenital or genetic
  • Inflammatory response occurs
  • Various Immune cells (WBCs) and proteins (Antibodies) is unable to fight against the infections
  • This leads to infections which attacks the organs such as skin, lungs, brain or GU/GI tract etc.
  • signs & symptoms occurs
