Cirrhosis of liver: a) definition: it is chronic degenerative disease in which normal liver cells are damaged and are then replaceed by scar tissues, b) pathophysiology:normally the liver plays a vital role insynthesis of proteins , detoxification and storage and metabolism of lipids and carbohydrates. in cirrohsis of liver is the development of scar tissue that replaces normal parenchyma, this scar tissue blocks the portal flow of through the organ raising the blood pressure and disturbing normal function, c) signs :the signs are weakness, right upper abdominal pain, fever and jaundice( loss of appetite, fatigue and itching etc) d) impaact of high protein diet on patient with cirrhosis of the liver:high protein diet leads more breakdown of proteins leads to more aproduction of intestinal ammonia production and thereby leading to the heaptic encephallopathy.
