As per the former slaves, the key elements of frredom are;
having the right to vote, Secondly, letting them their own land and
allowing them their own plantations,Thirdly, equality in the
jobs.The promise of freedom heldout the hope of self determination,
educational opprotunities and full rights of citizenship.
