Provide a written explanation of why it would be difficult to solve Homelessness at the individual level.
First of all it is important to understand that homelessness is a very complicated social concern for the society which includes a number of financial and social causes like substance abuse, poverty, unemployment, family breakdown, unaffordable housing and fluctuating and undetermined physical and mental health conditions of the inividual. Secondly, to estimate the number of homeless people is a very complex task with many challenges like no uniformity in the pattern of homeless people in various states, cycle of being homeless, migrating nature of the population and no clear definition. Still after so many complications, it was estimated that there were more than five hundred fifty thousand homeless people in the United States in 2019.
To provide shelter to such a huge number of homeless people will require something around $25 to $30 billion according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and a time frame of 5 -10 years for making estimation, construction, approvals and allotments and a lot other processes. Taking an account of all the above mentioned points, it is pretty much evident that it would be very difficult to solve Homelessness at the individual level.
