Soldering is a heterogeneous joining process, where the solder (tin and lead composition) is used to join with help of hot iron. In this process sufficient heat is required to melt the solder, molten solder enters into the joint by the principle of capillary action and solder joint formed over joint by the principle of surface tension.
The problem is that, when we do not give sufficient heat to solder, it doesn't melt completely and doesn't get the flowability property, so that it doesn't enter into the joint and after solidification of molten solder creaks will occur. This type of joint is unreliable. This is called cold solder connection.
So it can be repaired by reheating the joint, so that it can flow over and into the joint, by controlling the power supply.
