Amazon doesnot pay dividend which means its dividend Yield is 0 .(Dividend Yield =Dividend/Price)
It means it reinvests all of its net income . The growth in the stock would be equal to the ROE*Retention ratio . If ROE is high then growth would be higher. we know growth is same as capital gain. This would result in increase of stock. The capital appreciation in stock compensates for the lack of dividend. Had the dividends been paid out then growth would lower down and overall return would get lowered.
