What do you think of ride services such as Uber or Lyft? Should drivers of these services be classified as independent contractors or employees? What are your legal considerations? Finally, give me your thoughts on which you would prefer if you were conducting a business. Employees or Independent Contractors?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ride services of Uber and lyft has a lot of employees who are basically its drivers and those should be regular employees rather than being independent contractors, because there would be job security in their hands and they would be performing better for the organisation and they will also be paid under structured basis rather than a regular contract payments.

my legal consideration is that employees are always working for the company whereas contractors are independent in nature and they are always entering into a contract for service than contract of service.

I would be looking mostly for independent contractors because I would be more likely to expand my profits through my profit margins and not have a fixed cost in my hands.
