The distance measured by an ultrasonic proximity sensor is always given by the software code in centimeters (i.e. the software code is required to deliver this value in centimeters).
- this is a true or false MCQ question. so is it true or false that an ultrasonic sensor is always measured in cms
It is not actually true, because we can code accordingly that is how the distance have to displayed in inch or in cm, and important thing is an ultrasonic sensor doesn't give the distance value directly, it consists of a transmitter and receiver, the transmitter sends ultrasonic pulses and the receiver listens to the transmitted pulses, it receives and produces an output pulse whose pulse width is used to determine the distance, so the ultrasonic sensor doesnt directly give the distance in cm or Inch or like that , we have to use the pulse information from the sensor that is ofcourse corresponding to the distance as said earlier and have to convert those information into cm or inches by our software code according to our convenience and need.
