US companies are looking at "Inversion" whereby they switch their corporate headquarters abroad to avoid paying the higher US corporate tax rate. Do you support this idea? Do you think it is fair that companies can do so and avoid paying US taxes? Would you continue to patronize businesses that do so? Alternatively, what should US companies do to level the tax playing field?
I do not support this idea. tax are an essential part of any economy, it helps an economy to run well. through taxes government form various welfare schemes for its citizens and that is one of the major sources of government income. Taxes are essential and should be paid.
I don't think it is fair for companies to avoid paying tax because as citizens they enjoy all the welfare schemes made by government through the taxes they receive from the honest taxpayers. Hence, as citizens it is their responsibility as well. i would patronize businesses that do so.
US companies should rather united and talk to government, asking for tax reforms, if they think that corporate taxes are too high rather than performing tax inversion. This would be beneficial for corporate as well the economy.
