Based on your calculations, which strategy leads to largest yield?
(Hint: what is the difference in yield between the two varieties if no nitrogen is applied? What is the difference in yield for the rainfed variety between not using nitrogen and applying the optimal quantity of nitrogen?)
Farmers do not use nitrogen and irrigation technology is not available |

Government invests in irrigation technology and farmers apply the optimal level of nitrogen |

Farmers apply the optimal level of nitrogen, but irrigation is not available |

Government invests in irrigation technology, but farmers do not purchase nitrogen</p. |
Here there are four strategies are there.
In the first case farmers do not use nitrogen and no irrigation is available to them defenetely does not contribute high yeild.Becouse irrigation is an important part of plantation and farming.
second case refers Government invest irrigation and farmers use optimum level of Nitrogen. High level of Nitrogen use for crops is not good becouse it takes too much ampunt of water from plants and leave salts.so optimum use of Nitrogen is help the crops grow better and strong and this is the best strategy to get high yield to crops.
Third and fourth options are also not good becouse third inticates lacks of irrigation and fourth is about not to use Nitrogen.
If the plants do not get Nitrogen they cant grow becouse it lacks Amino Acids without Nitrogen so it leads plants cant make protiens to grow.
