Yellow Journalism means using hyperbole, exaggerated information, melodrama in the newspapers in order to gain public attention and increase the sales. It is characterised by eye catching lines, sensational stories and dramatic stories. The US press is successful in creating a public opinion agains the inhuman face of spain with respect to the cuban crisis, it aroused concerns and questioned the ways in which spanish are treating the people of cuba, the freedom movement was suppressed harshly, with attrocities and unhuman behaviour, touched the hearts of millions of US citizens and sooner pressurized the government inorder to counter spain.

Thus the Yellow Journalism played a wide role creating mass awareness amoung the people, touching and highlighting the various sensitive causes like Human Rights Violations, Woman Atrocities, Child Abuse etc.
