What did Freud give as the reason for war when asked by Albert Einstein?
Freud said that conflicts of interest between men are resolved by violence, this is in the same manner of the animals and men are no different from animals in this aspect. The killing of an enemy gratifies the instinctual craving which a man has. He further said that violence cannot avoided when there is a conflict between people. He also says that as paradoxical as it may sound, war may make way for peace, as wars have led to establishment of vast empires.
