What did Freud give as the reason for war when asked by Albert Einstein?
In the letter to Albert Einstein, Freud said that there are two main reasons for war that is the material cause and the Psychological cause. He synonym the material cause with the conflict of desires. It is a conflict between two parties with only one object. Since there are only one object and two parties, war evolves. For psychological cause, he said that there is a force called that hadeotic which causes the war. When a person has this hadeotic instinct, the mind becomes destructive and there comes a desire for death. Thus, war takes place.
