Answer #1

Vacate people's house to make a place for a new shopping mall :

Weekend thing people's house for the development of shopping malls are any urban areas is a strict lawfully applied process. Government keeps a direct contact with this process of making people working their houses for the development of Malls and offices etc.

Whenever this happens, it's a very sensitive process always, mainly because those people who are living there, have to find a new place to live and shift without planning for it. Means they have to shift their homes due to governments order and not due to their own house planning.

This being such a sensitive process that it needs to have some incentives attached to it. Government gives compensation to the families living there for destroying their houses and making them shift to another places because this cause much inconvenience to those families. Even if one family disagrees , government cannot go for that for the process of making mall. Hence why, giving a proper incentive is necessary for the smooth process of government to make malls by deconstructing people's house.

Generally, this is a long term process and people have been given a proper time for about a year or two before hand, so that they can be mentally and physically prepared for the process of shifting the homes. Without being given a proper time it will create a more hassle for both the parties and make it a hard process to go for. High level of expertise and a good management system is also needed for this process to be done smoothly.

Other personal experience I have seen many demolitions of small slum societies for making or building malls or roads. And that is how I I came to know that these are the problems faced by both the parties while they are in the process of vacant in the houses and preparation of Malls building. Problems I have seen are:

1. Less proper guidance to the people living there about the compensation and timing of the compensation receiving.

2. Even after people have vacant the places, the process of building malls is delayed due to many reasons which makes things outdated, and it creates a lot of loss to the builders and the government.

3. Those slum people usually do not have the proper idea of receiving compensation and sometimes end up facing losses due to mediator.

But it has also created many benefits which I have personally seen if the government takes proper action and a much expert management team is present and actively working on it:

Some of the benefits that I have personally scene in my city while people have to leave their homes and place is used for building malls are:

1. Generally there are some people and they end up living in a better house than they were living before. Hence this increases their standard of living which they could not otherwise afford.

2. Demolition and construction process creates a lots and lots of job opportunity and sometimes I have seen that, those slum people living their themselves get the opportunity of working, and it creates a good job opportunity for them.

3. The slum areas are now being used for a big projects like mall etc, and people living there are no shifted to a better houses which is a win win situation.

This were some pros and cons of making people work and their house and building new malls in that place from my own personal experience.

Talking economically, this is a development process of the city, or the country as whole, but it requires a much supervision and careful steps to be taken. As said earlier this will create job opportunity, leading to increase in GDP, leading to many other benefits to the city. The only thing is that government has to take proper steps, and not let the intermediaries Take any undue advantages of the compensation or any of the money which should be used for the people vacant in their houses. Because at the end those people living there are shifting for the betterment of the society and they have to be given proper respect and care in every due sense.
