I am the owner of a burger store. I want to expand my business.

I want to recruit a waiter and an assistant manager.

I am selecting my employees based on P-J fit (Person-Job fit) and P-O fit (Person-Organization fit).

My question is: How do I do the selection effectiveness evaluation? Which methods to use?

Please provide justifications for your answer.

P -J Fit Method: It measures the compatibility between person and job. Persons are hired based on required skills and expertise to carry to specific task. It leads to better performance and job satisfaction. Employees tend to stay longer with an organization.

P-O Fit Method: It measures compatibility of applicant with an organization. such Method of evaluation is generally carried out in big organizations.

Since burger store is relatively small organization and it requires such special skills and expertise to expand customers base in near future. Thus, in very initial stage, store owner must adopt P-J Fit method to evaluate applicants so that right candidates are hired to realize objectives of an organization.

Initially, store owner must use P -J fit method and P-O Method can be used at later stage to evaluate employees.
