  1. How would a move away from employer-based provision of health insurance create a labor market more in line with the competitive model?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A competitive labor market is where the firms have no control over the wages or salaries of the workers and are determined by the market forces. If there is a move away from employer based health insurance, the health insurances will be determined according to the prevailing market price and the firms will have no control over it,  which will provide a competitive edge, making all the workers better off as they will have wide array of options to choose from.
