The current climate in the United States regarding illegal immigration has transformed into general feelings against the immigrants whether legal or illegal. The problem to the economy lies when the debate transforms as against legal immigration as well. The fact is that roughly 17% of the US workforce are immigrants and the quality labour force come from abroad.

The climate against immigration will lead to deterioration in the quality of labour force which in turn affects the output and thus the economy as a whole. Because of such environment work culture also gets affected. Government budget problems and Crime, in general, may also increase.
