What are the sources of campaign money in American politics? Why do candidates for public office need to raise so much money? How has the government sought to balance the competing ideals of free expression and equal protection in regard to campaign financing? In the modern democracy, elections form the foundation. In the United States more elections are scheduled every year compared to any other nation in the world. Campaigning helps the candidates to put efforts to convince voters for providing support them; and it precede most elections. The campaigns have become more expensive and longer in the recent years. The Introduction videos of candidates can be released describing the background, qualifications and cause for running. Today the party uses computers to draw up a possible supporters list and take polls on public opinion to explore the voters view on specific issues. They also use advertising to mould the opinion of public and compete for favorable coverage on media for their candidates. It has also expanded their efforts in advertising to encompass a variety of platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. The campaign also addresses rally and make his policies known; however it takes a take a lot of time and resources.

An effective disclosure and regulation can assist in controlling the adverse effects of the money's role in politics, however when it is well conceived and implemented. Thus the government promoted equal protection and expression in regard to campaign financing. In period from 1976 and 2012, the program funded the main parties’ presidential nominating conventions and giving qualified minor parties a partial convention funding. The Barack Obama election as a President was a milestone in America's racial history as it the presence of a black man in the White House changed the approach on how we see each other.
