If the IP address is not reclaimed, the DHCP server will not renew it, therefore the host that wants to continue using the IP needs to periodically reclaiming it to the DHCP server.And If a file server was configured to use DHCP and, due to a power outage, the file server and DHCP server rebooted at the same time, then the clients will keep the DHCP information for a certain period of time. After the period of time is finished, all clients will lose the IP information assigned by the DHCP Server.
