Server appliance is most splified form and is a kind of a specialized server that is designed for ease of installation and maintenance. Server appliances have their hardware and software bundled in the product, so all applications are pre-installed.

We have Virtual machine most typical server appliance.and also Products like Toshiba's new Linux office appliance and the Aries from Celestrix Networks offer a small form factor, with an internet gateway/router (firewall and VPN access), Web caching server, email server, file server, Ethernet.All these can be operated through the web browser.

We will have to tune the existing general purpose machine its hardwware and the Operating system .

Compac is developing the server appliances for users who are intrsested in buying the system optimised for one particular task.
