Describe Passive Design Strategies

Describe Passive Design Strategies

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Passive design strategies

In passive design strategy we construct the building in such a way that it will provide a sustainable way to live . Here we take natural energy sources like sun or wind to have a comfortable living condition. So for passive design the building orientation plays an important role because the amount of heat or light coming from the sun will depend on the orientation of the building. In passive design we at most try to provide a sustainable design for ventilation, daylight and insulation.

These are the following points of passive design strategy-

  1. This design is based on climatic condition.
  2. Sustainable way to feel comfort.
  3. In passive design we provide materials those will not heat up the room in summer.
  4. Passive design strategy provide proper ventilation to the room.
  5. Due to passive design temperature fluctuations in a building is reduced.

In your design, please explicitly describe the transfer function, the bode plot, and the value of passive components obtained while designing the filter according to the given specification. Use Multisim for the circuit design as well as frequency response analysis, and compare the output (Bode plots) with the simulation that can be obtained from MATLAB.
