Molecules that contain chiral carbons may be achiral molecules. true or false

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Molecule that contain chiral carbon may be achiralamolecule it is a true statement.

The term chiral is an object is not identical in all respect, that is not super imposable with its mirror image their four valeneys filled with different molecule.

But in achiral object is identical with its mirror image.

The statement chiral carbon contain molecule may be chiral. This is due to internal plane of symmetry(MEso).

Just to make things clear, a meso compound is the molecule that contain chiral centers but also has an iternal plane of symmetry, this leads the molecule achiral.
