Arrange the following in order of increasing boiling point: CCl4, HCl, RbCl, CH3OH?
increasing order of Boiling Point ; HCl < CCl4
< CH3OH < RbCl
RbCl is an ionic compound which will have higher boiling point due
to high electrostatic interaction between ions of molecules
CH3OH has H-Bonding, which makes higher inter molecular interaction
between molecules in solution phase.
CCl4 is higher molecular weight than HCl so greater wander waal
interation between moleules of CCl4 is higher than HCl . So CCl4
boils at higher temperature than HCl.
