2K + 2H2O ------------> 2KOH + H2

2Li + 2H2O ------------> 2LiOH + H2

Mg + 2H2O ------------> Mg(OH)2 + H2 (require steam instead of water)

2Al + 6H2O ------------> 2Al(OH)3 + 3H2 (require steam instead of water)

S + H2O-----------------> No Reaction

All the first group members of periodic table (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr) reacts vigoursly with water to give hydrogen.
