According to the activity series, which of these metals will react with most acids to produce H2 gas? Cu,Na,Fe

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Dear student,

The most reactive metals will react even with water while the least reactive will not react even with acid. According to reactivity series if we put the metals in order of their reactivity from most reactive to least reactive .

Since, In reactive series Na is above Cu and Fe.

Therefore, Sodium (Na) will react with most acids to produce hydrogen gas. Sodium is an extremely reactive metal and will react with most substances.

Please give a positive ratings to this answer.

And stay safe...

With regards...

rank Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Sn, and Zn in terms of increasing reactivity. rank most (if not all) of the metals by simply comparing the reactions that occurred when each metal was added to HCl Clearly, those metals that reacted with HCl to produce hydrogen gas would be considered more active that those that exhibited no reaction. In addition, the metal that reacted the most vigorously in acid would be the most reactive metal. By continuing this line of reasoning...

A. Sodium metal reacts with water to produce hydrogen gas and sodium hydroxide according to the chemical equation shown below. When 0.020 mol of Na is added to 100.00 g of water, the temperature of the resulting solution rises from 25.00°C to 33.60°C. If the specific heat of the solution is 4.18 J/(g • °C), calculate ΔH for the reaction, as written. 2 Na(s) + 2 H2O(l) → 2 NaOH(aq) + H2(g) ΔH= ? Sodium metal reacts with water to...
