If one dissolves 0.1 mole of Fe (NO3)3 (s) in 1 L of water, what is the total ionic concentration?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Fe (NO3)3 concentration = moles / volume

                                         = 0.1 / 1

                                         = 0.1 M

Fe (NO3)3 -----------------------> Fe+3 + 3 NO3-

total ions = 1 + 3 = 4

total ionis concentration = 4 x 0.1 = 0.4 M

total ionis concentration = 0.4 M
