How many moles of solute are present in the following solutions:

1.) 145 mL of 0.32 M NaNO3

2.) 430 mL of 1.3 M HNO3

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Molarity (M) = number of moles of solute (n) / volume of solution in liters (L)

=> number of moles of solute (n) = Molarity (M) * volume of solution in liters (L)

1.) number of moles of NaNO3 = 0.32 * 0.145

                                             = 0.0464

2.) number of moles of HNO3 = 1.3 * 0.430

                                             = 0.559
