Is this how you calculate to convert to gram amount of the Na2CO3 to react with 1 gram of CaCl2 X 2H2O Thank You

Answer #1

no of moles of CaCl2.H2O = weight of CaCl2.H2O/Gram molar mass

                                         = 1/147   = 0.0068 moles

Na2CO3 + CaCl2 . 2H2O ------>2 NaCl + CaCO3 + 2H2O

from the balanced quation

1 moles of Na2CO3   = 1 mole of CaCl2.H2O

0.0068 mole of Na2CO3   = 0.0068 mole of CaCl2.H2O

no of moles of Na2CO3 is 0.0068

mass of Na2CO3 = no of moles * gram molar mass

                            = 0.0068*106 =0.72 gm
