List the noble gas that has the highest ionization energy

List the noble gas that has the highest ionization energy

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Noble gas helium (He) has highest energy of ionization.

Explanation -

All noble gases has competed shell of electron therefore have very stable electronic configutation and ionization energy of noble gases are high. among the all noble gases size of atom increases or we moving down the familly of noble gases no. of shell increses and size of atom increases due to increase in size electron more further away from nucleus and contron on electron decreases and it is become easy to remove electron as compaired to small atom of noble gas. helium is small atom in all noble gases have only one shell thereforehave highest ionization energy.
