describe the main steps of an efficient column chromatographic separation of a non-polar compound A from a medium polar compound B and a non-polar chemical (C). C is slightly less polar than A.
Since the Compound A & C are non-polar Chemicals thus they will be eluted first and fast and the chemical B will be the slowest since it is polar and it will stuck so the walls of the glass with the silica packing. Now since the A chemical is more polar than A, thus C will be eluted first then A then B. So in this situation we must use a pure non-polar solvent as the mobile phase, which can take up all the C very fast and then we can separately get the B. But you have to remember the process is quick since the mobile phase is purely non-polar, it will flow at a faster rate.
I hope it helps!!!
