Question

Balanced molecular and net ionic equations of: NH4OH + BaCl2

Balanced molecular and net ionic equations of: NH4OH + BaCl2

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer – We are given the reaction between NH4OH and BaCl2 and we need to write balanced molecular and net ionic equation.

There are needed 2 NH4OH, since there is Ba has 2+ charge and formed Ba(OH)2 which is needed 2 hydroxides. We know Ba(OH)2 is slightly soluble So, balanced equation as follow –

2NH4OH(aq) + BaCl2(aq) ----> Ba(OH)2(s) + 2NH4Cl(aq)

Total ionic equation –

2NH4+(aq) + 2 OH-(aq) + Ba2+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq) ------> Ba(OH)2(s) + 2NH4+(aq) + 2Cl-(aq)

Net ionic reaction –

2 OH-(aq) + Ba2+(aq) ------> Ba(OH)2(s)
