You have two 1 L cylinders sealed by a frictionless piston, one filled with Helium and the other filled with Krypton. A mass is added to each piston. Which gas system will result in an ultimate higher pressure and why?
P = Moles * gas constant * temperature / volume ( in L )
Pressure is directly proportional to moles
Means more amount of mole will contribute high pressure.
If moles are same then pressure will be same
If moles are different but mass of gases are same
Moles = mass / molar mass
Higher the molar mass will have low pressure
Krypton has high molar mass as compare to helium. So helium has high pressure as compare to Krypton
