Suppose in a separatory funnel you had 10mL of water and 10mL of diethyl ether. Briefly describe how you would get diethyl ether into an Erlenmeyer flask with only a minimum amount of water.

Diethyl ether has a density 0.714g/cc and has a solubility of 6.05g/100 mL water.Thus diethyl ether layer will be on the the water layer in the separatory funnel.Thus as we first unlock the stopcock of the funnel it is the water which will be coming out.when almost the water is removed there will be only the diethyl ether with a very low amount of water in the funnel.And we can easily collect that diethyl ether in a Erlenmeyer flusk.
