Explain what a mixed solvent recrystallization is, and when one would be necessary.
Sometime very difficult to find a single solvent with appropriate dissolving power and difficult to decide exactly how much of the solvent require for perfect crytallization. That time two or more than two different solvwnt can be used for better solubility of compound alongwith with impurity with minimum solvent. After getting perfect combination the pure compound get recrytallized from solution at cold temperature this type of process called as mixed solvent recrystallization. Mixed solvents that are used should be co-soluble.
It can be used when sample is not or partial soluble in single solvents.
