if a typical tablet contains 325mg aspirin (the rest is starch binder) how many tablets could you prepare from the aspirin you made in lab? aspirin made in lab = 3.34g

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Aspirin needed for one tablet = 325mg = 0.325g.

Aspirin made in the lab = 3.34g

No. of aspirin tablets that could be made from 3.34g aspirin =

= 10.28

Hence 10 tablets could be made from the aspirin prepared in the lab. ( We rounded off to 10 because the answer would be an integer and obviously the lower integer, because we won't be to make 11 tablets from aspirin that could produce only 10.28 tablets)

I hope this helped you.

Feedback appreciated :)

Vitamin C tablets contain ascorbic acid (C6H8O6= 176.1232 g/mol) and a starch "filler" which holds them together. Your goal today is to determine how much vitamin C or ascorbic acid, HC6H7O6 is present in the tablet. This can be determined by titrating ascorbic acid, HC6H7O6 with calcium hydroxide solution, Ca(OH)2(aq) (74.0918 g/mol) according to the following equation: 2HC6H7O6(aq) + Ca(OH)2(aq) ---> Ca(C6H7O6)2(aq) + 2H2O(l) First you must make 500 mL of a 0.1012 M standard solution of Ca(OH)2 from a...

A pharmaceutical company manufactured a prescription drug that contained a tablet inside another tablet. This inner tablet, called a “core”, needed to be in the exact center of the larger tablet, and tolerances were measured in tenths of millimeters. The process was not robust, and the placement of the inner tablet sometimes drifted, requiring the scrapping of off-quality product and the adjustment of the tablet press. This resulted in significant scrap and tablet press downtime. A process change was invented...
