The main weight of the body is due to stored fat. Any how if you can burn the fat you will succeed in reducing the weight. There wre two major source of energy storage, glycogen and fat. Glycogen get exhausted within 24 hours of starvation and then body starts metabolizing fat for the energy generation. As the process of fat oxidation continues it burns more and more fat that manifest in form of weight loss. Another way of reducing the weight is to do rigorous exercise that also involve the same principle, reducing fat by oxidizing it for need if energy.
